The Southern Pacific 4-6-2. This bad boy was a "standard" train loco with top speeds of 100 MPH (typically 55-65 MPH) and it could haul 15 heavyweight passenger cars. More than 7,000 of this type were produced and operated from the early 1900s to the 1950s'. This engine ran the "Overland Route" in the 1920's between Ogden, UT and Sparks, NV - the longest run in the world. Download
